Editorial policy
Honest Athletes Stories aims to publish clear, fair and considered writing about athletes’ experiences. We distinguish what is known from interpretation, and treat people and sensitive subjects with care.
Accuracy and context
We check names, quotations and factual claims against suitable material before publication, and seek context where a detail could mislead on its own. We avoid presenting speculation as fact and do not invent experiences, dialogue or private information.
Independence and fairness
Editorial choices are made for reader interest and relevance. We aim to represent people accurately, avoid needless sensationalism and give a fair account of the subject. We welcome specific correction requests and review them carefully; when an article needs a change, we update it clearly.
Partner material
Paid collaborations and partner placements are identified plainly so readers can tell them apart from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial control.
Images and illustration
Images should support the story without misleading readers about what happened. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are identified as illustrations and not presented as documentary photographs.
